More WordPress Plugins I love!

July 5, 2010 | Filed under Blog Tips

If you haven’t read my first set of  WordPress Plugins I love, click here to read that!

I have added a few new plugins to my list of Plugin Loves:

TweetMeme Retweet Button – This plugin quickly and easily adds the Tweet button and tweet count to your blog posts. You want your readers to share right!? And Twitter is oh-so-popular these days. See it… right up there on this post?? Try it out!

Quotes Collections – This is just one of those plugins that you don’t really need but it’s fun to have. You add all of your personal favorite quotes. You can add it to your pages or use it as a widget. I’m using it on this blog as a widget over there –>

WP Greet Box – This plugin shows a different message to users depending on where they arrived from, suggesting they subscribe, tweet, digg, etc. It is only visible on single post pages, not the main part of your blog. The text displayed is customizable.

WordPress Thread Comment – This plugin allows comments to be threaded, so that when one commenter replies to another comment already posted it is displayed where you would expect a reply to be displayed. Not all WordPress themes will need this though, mine did. It also includes the same functions as the ReplyMe plugin, however, I am not using those options… I’m still using the ReplyMe plugin.

I’m sure in the next few weeks I’ll find, try and fall in love with more WordPress plugins. Until then… let me know which plugins you love!!!

Hi, thanks for visiting my blog, am here to return the favour.

I haven’t used wordpress, so can’t really comment on the content, but you seem to be a real techie, or it could be that I’m really bad at such stuff :-)

Anyway, will be back for more reads.

Hope you had a nice 4th of July.

I have been thinking about switching to WordPress, but I didn’t know how hard it would be to transfer all my stuff over. What do you think?

It depends if you want a FREE wordpress blog at wordpress.com {where you address would be whatever.wordpress.com} or if you want a self-hosted wordpress on your own domain name. My blog and my store are both hosted at Bluehost.

I LOVE self-hosted WordPress but I would not suggest switching to a free WordPress blog, {the free wordpress accounts do not allow you to use scripts, it is very limited} if you want to stick with free then I would stick with blogger. If you need help changing your design, I can help :)

But either way, you can import all your posts, pictures and comments very easily. I am happy to explain it if you do decide to switch. The only thing you would really have to move is the logos in your sidebar widgets, but you can just have two windows open and copy/paste.

Okay, that is great information. :o ) One thing I would love that I haven’t been able to figure out is how to put the logos from FB, Twitter, and other sites on. I have the widget things, but I would rather have the logos.
